At the airport!

Well, here we are! At last! "Here" being Boston Logan International Airport. We're about to board the flight to Reykjavik, where we will be renting a car and driving around the entire country (which is not actually that impressive of a feat, given the size of Iceland :) ). We are so excited! This is it! There's been a lot of building up to this point, and today was the tipping point. We drove away from our house for the last time today, which was bittersweet. It's been a great place to live (for the most part... Although it's certainly had its horrible moments during certain renovation periods) and we really enjoyed plenty of things about Raymond. But it's now time for the next phase of life, which promises to be just as exciting and full of wonderful things. And this trip is an awesome start to that next chapter! We have a lot to look forward to! Although, to be honest, while I am thrilled about the trip, at the moment I'm also very excited to get on the plane and sleep. Putting your house on the market, sorting and moving all of your belongings, and preparing for a three-month trip around the world is kind of exhausting! See you in Iceland! :)

Welcome to the Finney blog!  After several years of plotting and planning and saving, we are finally going on our adventure!  We will be traveling around the world for three months, living out of our backpacks, and having the time of our lives (we hope!).  And it all starts tomorrow when we fly to Iceland!  I will be attempting to chronicle our trip here so that anyone who is interested may follow along with us (as long as we have some kind of internet connection, that is).  And also so that if we get really jet-lagged, we can look here and figure out where we are.  :)

Okay!  Here's to our last day in our house, which will hopefully be sold while we're away.  We've been packing, moving, and trip planning to get ready, and now the time is finally here!  See you soon!  :)
